OpenStack: A vision for the future

Project: OpenStack

OpenStack as a phenomenon has been explosive and rather unprecedented. The highly decentralized decision making coupled with an aggressive release cadence have allowed us to be both an inclusive body and also ship software. However, crisp vision is not necessarily an emergent property of collective thought process. It's time for some vision to be presented and championed if we're going to take the next step in our evolution.

Let's talk about a vision of what OpenStack needs to be, how it needs to be shaped, and what it will take to get us there.

Monty Taylor

Monty currently works full-time on OpenStack for HP. He leads a team that works on running the Developer Infrastructure systems for the project, as well as other smart and useful things. He is past PTL of the OpenStack Infra Program and currently sit on the OpenStack Technical Committee. Previously, he was a core developer on Drizzle and was a Senior Consultant for MySQL, Inc. He's been a Python hacker by choice since 2000, and is a voting member of the Python Software Foundation.
