Teaching Programming for the fun of IT

Project: Python in Education

The teaching of programming concepts has come a long way in terms of tools and pedagogies but the underlying concepts appear timeless. In this session we will look at the place of programming in schools in the junior school through National Curriculum imperatives like Digital Technologies and the Information Processing and Technology perspectives and how Python can have a place here.

Peter Whitehouse

Peter is a Teacher of Information Processing and Technology (IPT) and Digital Technology at St. Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace. He has been a longtime Board Member of QSITE (Queensland Society of Information Technology Educators) and enjoys the challenges of teaching and learning in this dynamic and diverse subject area.
